We will offer high level training that will consist of maximum effort throwing with weighted balls, Jaeger bands, Plyo balls, arm tube and wrist weights. This training has been proven to increase arm strength and velocity if 100% effort is put into consistently and continually executing all the drills. We are also offering this class SPECIFIC TO POSITION PLAYERS. No matter the position, arm strength is important for all players on the field, especially if they want to play at a higher level. This training will include Arm Care, Velocity Training, Long Toss, Strength Training, Plyo Balls, Weighted Balls, Med Balls and Rotational Drills. We will address and make mechanical adjustments through the above training.

The average outfielder in the MLB throws 90 MPH, so if you plan to play at the collegiate level and higher, arm strength is essential for ALL POSITIONS.

Training Goals:

  • Total Arm Care
    1. Arm care is the focal point of this program, because of the benefits of strengthening and stabilizing the arm.
    2. One of the most important aspects of arm training is the post throw program. This program keeps your arm healthy and it is what protects the shoulder. Basically, if your arm hurts you cannot throw, and with this post throw program, we will teach you to safely strengthen and stabilize the arm to enable you to withstand the increased intensity of this program.
  • Increase Arm Strength
    1. We will introduce the use of weighted balls, Jaeger bands, Plyo balls, arm tube and wrist weights. These tools allow your arm to adjust to the increased amount of work. This trains the muscles in your arm to become stronger through a consistent workload.
  • Increase Velocity
    1. We will also use Plyo balls to increase velocity. As the arm becomes stronger the velocity increases. Last year we saw players increase velocity 3-6 MPH. This can be achieved by throwing heavier weighted balls, increased repetitions, and added long toss with high intensity throws with normal
  • Improve Endurance
    1. Through the use of Plyo balls we will also be working on core strength, as well as proper shoulder and hip interaction. As your body gains strength in these areas, you are better able to become perfectly in sync from shoulder to hips enabling you to access your power.
