503 Baseball Academy is excited to offer

10 Week Off Season High School Pitching Program with Matt McDonald and Tim Driscoll

We continue to receive a lot of interest in teaching younger players how to properly take care of their arms while increasing arm strength which will result in players throwing harder, safely. This training will provide players with the knowledge and ability to properly and safely build arm strength thus minimizing injuries. This training is ESSENTIAL for any youth players looking to increase velocity for all positions. This training will build up arm strength for more future advanced classes.

Training: Fall Training will focus primarily on Arm Care, Velocity Training, Long Toss, Strength Training, Plyo Balls, Weighted Balls, Med Balls and Rotational Drills. We will address and make mechanical adjustments through the above training.

Fall is the time for pitchers to get stronger. PItchers require time to rebuild and build muscle groups that will allow them to maximize their performance, minimize injury risk and prepare them for the long Spring and Summer season. In order to maximize results, 3 days is essential for success. Collegiate players are going 6 days a week in the Fall. This training will prepare them for the Winter Training in January which will focus on command through Rapsodo pitch location feature, command of all secondary pitches, bullpen ramp up, mental approach and focus.

*This training does not include Bullpens. Bullpens begin in January and are not necessary in the Fall. Time to get stronger!

Training Goals:

  1. Rapsodo at the beginning and the end of training to measure velocity and spin rates
  2. Utilize Futures App into a training program and training will be individually assigned to each player'
  3. First Day evaluation. Video, pull down, mound video, mechanical issues and provide a detailed assessment.
  4. Teach players how to properly warm up prior to throwing
  5. Instruct on proper drills for Jaeger Arm Bands prior to throwing
  6. Light 5 lb. dumb bell wrist weight drills
  7. Towel Drills
  8. Weighted balls program. Lighter weights adjusted based on strength of player
  9. Long Toss and proper technique for practices and games
