503 Baseball Academy is excited to offer
8 Week Off Season High School Pitching Program with Matt McDonald and Tim Driscoll
January / February training is essential for getting the body and arm ready for the High School season. The class will continue to work on Arm Care, Velocity Training, Long Toss, Strength Training, Plyo Balls, Weighted Balls, Med Balls and Rotational Drills. We will address and make mechanical adjustments through the above training. However now the Pitching group will include weekly bullpens, and diving into the ins and outs of pitching. This includes different pitch grips, learning how to sequence pitches and locations, reading hitters swings, and much more. Bullpens will extend in pitch count weekly to prepare the arms for the season in a proper way. High School Pitchers should be ready and prepared to throw 80 pitches by the time they start their season.
Training Goals:
- Rapsodo at the beginning and the end of training to measure velocity and spin rates
- Jaeger Band, Shoulder Tube, Wrist weights, and plyo routines to improve arm strength and stability.
- Proper Long Toss routines
- Flat ground routines / drills, how to work on different pitches while not on the mound
- Weekly Bullpens which increase in length as the 8 weeks progress.
In summary, players will learn to properly take care of their arms safely while building strength, flexibility, and arm speed.
